Full & Blue Moon

A Blue Moon only happens, well – once in a Blue Moon!

It’s not only a beautiful song, or the name of our company,

it’s also something wonderful that happens infrequently-

the second Full Moon occurring within one calendar month.

This Thursday’s blue moon is far rarer though, because it’s happening

right on New Year’s Eve – a coincidence that comes to pass only  about

once in every 20 years. But that is not all-we will end the decade with a

partial lunar Eclipse. And if that is not enough,  Mercury is in full

retrograde and will not go direct until January 15, 2010. Oh, my!

The full moon has always been known as a time of power, & a Blue Moon

has even more. Of course, this month there will be an additional twist

with the lunar eclipse. This is a powerful time for divination & magick…

a time for renewing our connection with our ancestors.  It’s a time to

manifest our dreams. And under Cancer, it is a good time for protective

magic. It is a time for renewal and rejuvenation-to look at our lives and

create something wondrous. But, as mentioned above, being Mercury is

in retrograde, things do move backwards, a signal to us to look behind us

as well. Before making your resolutions and setting your goals, take a look

at where you’ve been.

So, on this night we say farewell to 2009 & welcome & bless 2010.

Between sharing New Year’s kisses, take a look at the moon,

She will be at Her most beautiful & magickal.

Wishing you a New Year of peace, health, abundance &  joy
